Find the church

The New Mander organ was finished in 2006. I was surprised to see that it was a three manual organ with tracker action.

I was surprised to see that the church had a chest organ as well as the new Mander organ. I like chest organs. I would like one like this.

I was lucky enough to manage to climb up into the organ and have a good look around inside it. I hadn't seen a tracker action working from the inside before.

The thing that initially struck me was how shiny the inside of the organ was. All the pipes gleamed. There was lots of space inside, compared to other organs I have climbed into.

All the pipes and sound boards were well labelled, something that is missing at St Mary's Hemel and you have to guess. This organ has two sets of swell shutters - one opening onto the nave as well as the main one.
